Ghoonzaakhi/ ghwanzakhi/ kajoori.
Ingredients:
3 cups da ghanamo woorah (wheat flour)
1 Agay (Eggs)
1.5 cup Goorah (brown sugar)
1.5 cup Ooba (water)
1/2 teaspoon baking sooda (baking powder)
To taste kaaga (soonf....anise seed)
3 pods shna lachee (cardimons )
1/2 cup moong palli (peanuts) or walnuts
Cooking oil to fry in.
Directions (tharika):
goora pa lagoo oobo ke ooyashawai...aw sherbath threy joor kai.
Dissolve the brown sugar in the water. (boiling it usually helps)
da ghanamo pa ooro ke moong palli,kaaga aw baking powder wachawai.
Mix all the dry ingredients.
da goorey pa teeng sherbath da oora sakhth waghegai.
Knead the dissolved brown sugar, egg and dry ingredients into a hard dough like consistency.
aw bya threy ghoonzaakhi joor kai...aw da makhke na garam shawee oil ke ye fry kai.
Shape them into ghwanzakhi by taking about a quarter of a cup of dough and rolling into a ball in the palm of your hand and slowly curling into shape by cupping one palm and gently shaping with the fingers of the other hand. Fry in pre-heated oil.
che golden shi no rakooz ye kai aw..lag ye yakh kai.
Remove from oil when golden brown. Serve at room temperature.
serve koolo la bilkul tyaar dee.
